Two notes from Joy Obadia

From Joy Obadia

1. ABOUT A MONTH AGO, THE HEATING SYSTEM WENT KAPUT AT ST. PAULS ANGLICAN CHURCH (CORNER QUEEN AND MONTREAL, HISTORIC CEMETERY WHERE MOLLY BRANT AND WILLIAM JOHNSON ARE BURIED). THIS CHURCH OFFERS A LOT OF THINGS TO THE COMMUNITY.

I ALREADY PARTICIPATED IN A 5-KILOMETER WALK ON SUNDAY NOV. 6 ( WE DECIDED TO GO BEFORE THE WEATHER GETS BAD) TO RAISE MONEY TO HELP PAY THE $42,000 NECESSARY.

IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT WITH A CONTRIBUTION OF ANY AMOUNT, $5 OR MORE, PLEASE SEE ME BEFORE OR AFTER BAND OR AT BREAK. THE FUNDRAISING ENDS DEC. 1.

2. ON SATURDAY, NOV. 19, «SHE SINGS», A WOMENS CHOIR DIRECTED BY MARTHA HILL DUNCAN, IS PRESENTING A DOWN EAST EVENING, WITH SOME LOVELY CELTIC SONGS (ONE FROM THE RANKIN FAMILY) AND SONGS FROM THE MARITIMES. IT IS AT 7:30 IN SYDENHAM STREET UNITED CHURCH, TICKETS ON SALE AT THE DOOR FOR $15.

This week

Hi folks,

Just a reminder of our Friday duties at LaSalle’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

I hope you all can join in.

Also, the Intermediate band will be joining the Senior Band for a massed band rehearsal for Friday’s event.

If you cannot make the Wednesday class, you are all still more than welcome to attend on Friday. Dress is all black with a poppy.

The music is as follows.

Glasgow Sketches

Lullaby of Broadway

Who Can I Turn To?
White Cliffs of Dover.

O Canada

A reminder that our music room (as with many establishments) is considered to be a “scent free zone” so please keep this in mind. Some people can have serious reactions and discomfort when exposed to strong scents.

Thanks

Chris
