No band for football game tonight

Hi folks,

I’ve been watching the weather and it’s not good. There’s a huge band of rain coming in and it’ll be windy and cold. Not great weather to play in.

So, I’ve contacted Reuben Brunet the coach and advised him that we will not be performing at tonight’s game.

I know that many of you were looking forward to it and I thank you for your enthusiasm and support of the school.

Perhaps if we have an Indian Summer, we may get another chance to do it.

Please advise those who do not have access to this blog email of the cancellation.

See you Monday.

And thanks to all those who could make the concert in Tweed yesterday. You played very well and we were well received by the audience.

Have a good weekend and a reminder of the open rehearsal of the Kingston Symphony at Grand Theatre tomorrow at 2pm. Hope to see you there.

Chris

National Arts Centre Trip

Hi folks,

A 27 passenger bus would be $988.75.

At present we have only 16 people signed up. That makes each bus ticket over sixty dollars which is unacceptable I believe.

So, I am going to call Kelly in at NAC and cancel our ticket reservations.

If any of you are interested in going to the concert on your own, you can let me know and I’ll put your names forward to her and see if she can get you individual tickets since I will not be going.

Thanks

We’ll try again some other time.

Chris

Hi folks,

I invite all of you to come and perform for a Black Knights night game from 530 to 6pm.

Wear Black and I’ll have clean sports jerseys for you to put over your tops.

Should be fun. If you could bring a stand and wind clips, that would be great. If not, you can take one from the music room. I’m gonna move music room chairs up to the field for us.

We’ll be setting up just down from the field house on the stone track area.

Of course, this is ‘weather permitting.’

We will play music from Funway Bandsman Book one and two.

Here are the following selections. I’ll make copies this week for those who will attend.

Alley Cat bk 2

By The Time I Get To Phoenix bk 1

It’s Impossible bk 2

Moon River bk1

I Left My Heart in San Francisco bk 1

Hello Dolly bk2

Hi folks,

We will be pulling out from LaSalle at 930am. If there are people on the West side of the city who would like to be picked up at the Petro Canada Station on Gardiners Road, please contact each other and arrange that all of you will be there. I’m thinking that we should be there no later than 10am.

Dress is all black with some gold. The band looks hot in black!

Here’s a tentative performance list.

They Can’t Take That Away From Me

From Barb Cass

Hi Chris: Why are all these good things happening while I’m away? Guess I’ve got a great alternative though. The train ride across Canada was amazing. Great food, slept well and got to see this amazing country from a lounge chair. Sue and I are currently with cousins in Delta. Yesterday spent the day in White Rock and wound up the day with a fresh salmon BBQ Had a great giggle when we picked up our rental car which turned out to be a Chrysler 200 convertible. Today, we figure out how to get the top down… then we hit the

road for a coastal trip!! Wednesday we hve friends sailing

in from Nanaimo in their 42′ yacht to pick us up for the day

to go sailing. How good is that? As you can see, my

health problems aren’t slowing us down, but I have a first rate daughter here keeping a close eye on me. On to hriCalgary, then Red Deer to visit family and home on the 30th. I’m so glad we decided to go ahead with this trip.

Best wishes to all. See you soon. Barb xx
