Students in deadly car crash

Hello folks,
I found out that two sisters, Kate Lowther 18 and Amy Lowther 10 were killed in a car crash on Battersea Road on Monday.
Kate was a student of LaSalle.
The kids and staff are in pretty bad shape at the moment.
Just thought you’d like to be informed
Here’s a press release from the Whig about the accident. No names were released at that time.

Pray for the family.

Chris

Battersea Road has been reopened at the intersection of Kingston Mills Road where a deadly crash happened Monday evening.

The road was closed for roughly 17 hours, following the two-vehicle collision around 6:15 p.m.

It’s believed two teenage sisters died in the crash after a car was struck by a transport truck.

Kingston Police have not released any information.

The wreckage of the vehicles was hauled away this morning.

The victims were in a Pontiac car going west on Kingston Mills Road that was struck by a transport that was southbound on Battersea Road.

The force of the crash sent the car hurtling into a nearby cornfield where it came to rest upside down, about 15 metres from the road on the west side. The cab of the truck ended up in the east ditch, with the trailer upright across both lanes of Battersea Road.

The truck driver was apparently not injured.

Oct 1 assembly

Hi Folks,
We’ve been asked to perform at an assembly on Friday Oct 1st at about 10am. More details to follow.
I hope to have an overture of Guys and Dolls ready by then.
It would be great if you could come and perform even though it’s a Friday.
The dress is Black and Gold. The kids really were impressed by us dressing up as Black Knights last year.

Thanks

Chris

LaSalle Repetroire 2010/11

Hi folks,
Here is a list of our current repertoire (thanks to Karen for compiling it)
We’re going to try something new this year with use of the blog.
I’d like to pick a whole week’s worth of rehearsal material so that you don’t have to bring it all to class every day.
So, the easiest way to do it is to run it alphabetically.
So, for next Monday Sept 20th have all the tunes from American Folk Rhapsody to Irish Rhapsody
We will run it in order and see how far we get.
Keep this list for your records and put it in the front of your binder for reference.

Thanks

Chris

Scent free music room

Hi folks,
It has been brought to my attention that a few of our members are quite sensitive to perfumes and other fragrances.
I would like you all to consider making the music room a scent free zone as much as possible.
It can get pretty strong in there anyhow, due to the woodshop and technical trades classes as we are all aware.
Thanks

Chris
