Hello All,

I have been sent home from hospital and am settling into my own routine again. It’s going to be a slow process but I’ll do what I’m told to do by the doctors. I’m already walking a bit in town. I was told I should go back to band again so I’m planning on doing that the week after next, so long as I can get a ride as I’m not allowed to drive for a month.

Update from John Robertson

Hi all,

Just an update for you to let you know that I am headed off to another floor from the Acute stroke Unit to the Cardiology Unit. Not sure what bed yet. After a battery of vascular tests, doctors have determined that tests need to be done on my heart before a corrective surgical procedure goes ahead. My stroke was minor and, with assistance from rehab, I will manage quite well. Once I am discharged from hospital, I will be receiving 9 weeks of in-home care, physio & rehab. Will keep you posted as news arrives, so stay tuned!

I am able to check email every few days only, so if you send any messages I will respond when I am able.

Lottery note from Brad

Hello All You Dreamers,

I plan to do a lottery group for the Loto Max this week. The jackpot is around $50 million. I’ll be in town to do this draw , the 23rd, and the 30th of Oct. However I’ll be away for 3 weeks or so starting the 29th of Oct. so the cashing in of winnings/free tickets for the 30th will be delayed until my return late Nov. Delayed gratification for that time interval.

Thanks for your good wishes. Stu is doing well. He did not have a stroke but instead, he had two TIA’s a bit over a week apart. As you may know, these are warnings, not real strokes. They put him in the hospital to bump him up the list of people waiting for a stent in the Carotid Artery. He had this procedure done on Tuesday and he will go home as soon as his blood pressure is stable (and low enough).

Thanks again.

Susan & Stu
