Hi folks,

Just a reminder that I am giving a slide presentation and lecture at Queen’s School of Music this Friday Oct.31st at 1230 to 120pm in room 124 in Harrison-LeCaine Hall of the school of music.

Hope to see you there. It’s light and informative. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

It’s all about you and what you’re doing at LaSalle.

Gig LaSalle Academic Awards Night

We’ve been asked to perform for the opening ceremony of the LaSalle Academic Awards Night.

It’s on Wednesday Nov 5th.

We would perform from 6pm to 630pm then play the National Anthem to start their proceedings.

Very much like Graduation.

We would be done by nlt than 640pm.

Give it some thought and I will get a show of hands next Wednesday at class before I give a response.

We can play some lighter repertoire so all musicians would be invited to perform as well.

Thanks

Chris

Sad news

Hi folks,

I’m sorry to inform you that one of the fatalities in last week’s blizzard in Nepal was Doug Rooks’ sister Jan Rooks.

I thought I mentioned it to all of the bands but I was mistaken.

I apologize for not announcing it sooner.

Our thoughts are with Doug and his family at this time.

Check out this CBC link for more information.

KSO Concert this week

Hi folks,

Due to the numbers of persons who would like to attend an open rehearsal, I was informed that the KSO would have to bring in ushers and open the front of house at the Grand Theatre. So for this reason, they cannot have an open rehearsal.

However, they do appreciate your interest and are offering a special rate on tickets for all LaSalle members.

Here’s the offer from Andrea Haughton, General Manager KSO.

As an alternative, we could offer a group rate to your members for Sunday’s concert. Tickets would be $20 plus HST and would need to be purchased through the KSA office no later than this Friday at noon. All they’d need to do is call our office at 613-546-9729 and we will reserve the tickets(s). Identify yourself as part of the LaSalle Music program.

This is a great deal. Hope you partake in it.

Thanks

Chris
